Dr. Merlino would like to thank all of
her patients and friends, along with her staff, who so diligently
prayed that we could bring Leia
home. International adoption is a complicated process in general,
but the situation in Guatemala was changing continuously even making
news headlines here at home. After a year of preparing paperwork,
and another year of waiting, we were able to adopt Leia from
Guatemala. The U.S. granted her a visa on Valentine’s Day,
2008. She has been enjoying life with us ever since.
Annette and Tom praise God that Leia is
healthy and that He has given them this opportunity to raise such a
wonderful, happy, friendly, easy- going little girl. You might get
a chance to meet Leia someday as sometimes her Dad drops by the
offices with her.
Even with all the paperwork,
uncertainty and delays, we are so happy we chose to adopt. Please
support your friends and/or family who are considering adoption, and
if you have the means and the room in your heart, look into it.
