Our Daughter, Leia!
Dr. Merlino would like to thank all of her patients and friends, along with her staff, who so diligently prayed that we might finally bring Leia home. International adoption is a complicated process in general, but the situation in Guatemala was changing continuously even making news headlines here at home.
After a year of preparing paperwork, and another year of waiting, we were able to adopt Leia from Guatemala. The U.S. granted her a visa on Valentine’s Day, 2008. She came home to a cold, snowy Delmont but had no trouble adapting. She celebrated her 1st birthday in March with lots of friends and relatives to welcome her. She was baptized in April. Now we are looking forward to her first Christmas in the States.

Annette and Tom praise God that Leia is healthy and that He has given them this opportunity to raise such a wonderful, happy, friendly, easy- going little girl. You might get a chance to meet Leia someday as sometimes her Dad drops by the offices with her.
